Melbourne, Australia

Our last port of call before Sydney is Melbourne, Australia.  Here we took public transportation into the heart of the city and then transferred to the trams that are free in the center of the city.  We went to the Victoria Open Air Market.  It was the largest market that I have ever been to going for many city blocks.  If they didn't have it, then you don't need it.  There were entire areas for butchers, cheeses, fresh fish, produce, souvenirs, clothing, etc.

And so our voyage ends and the land part of our trip begins...

  1. Beautiful, reminds me of the outdoor markets in Florence. Every beautiful piece of produce you could ever want. Those leeks look amazing!

  2. Everything here is about the same as buying something in NYC but their minimum wage pay is a little under $20 per hour. So it is livable for them.

  3. It seems very romantic to be able to buy all your food in an open market like that.

    1. It does. I wish downtown Manchester had that. At least we have Nathan Hale from June to October.
